Cholsey Silver Band is based in the village of Cholsey which is 2 miles SW of Wallingford in Oxfordshire. We are a non-competing band of a good 4th section standard. We practice from 8-10pm each Tuesday evening in the Scout Hall (behind the Red Lion), Wallingford Road, Cholsey (see the map link above).

Our current senior band membership is 25 drawn from an area including Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford, and Tilehurst as well as Cholsey itself but new members are always welcome. We have a learners group and junior band which meet at 7.15pm on Tuesday evenings during school term time. Tuition, however is open to people of all ages and there is nearly always an adult in the learners group.

The band has a full set of good quality instruments bought as a result of a successful National Lottery application. In 1999 we purchased a new set of uniform jackets and music stand banners. The jacket colours are dark green with black and gold trim. In 2007 we added green tee shirts for informal events indoors and out.
